Welcome AllWe are happy you have visited this website today. We invite you to come worship with us. We pray your visit to our website today is a blessing to you, as you are to us and God through Jesus Christ His One and Only Begotten Son. Our MissionOur mission is not to be another denomination, but rather to urge all Christ-minded people to return to the simple plan of God as it is clearly presented in the New Testament. We believe this to be the solution to the problem we confront in our divided Christian world. We do not claim to be "the only Christians," but rather "Christians only." First Christian Church of MargateFirst Christian Churches. This fellowship of churches is the result of what has become known as the "Restoration Movement." We use the term "restoration" rather than "reformation" because it is our goal to restore the simple, non-sectarian Christianity of the New Testament times. There are several thousand congregations in the United States belonging to this movement, numbering over one million members. Without any man-made creed and any denominational affiliation, we seek to use the Bible alone as our rule of faith and practice. We are not controlled or directed by any organization outside our local congregation. We believe the church in the beginning, while under the ministry of the apostles, was such a church the Lord desired to have on earth. The terms of membership in our church are those clearly revealed in the pages of the New Testament. We must embrace the plan of salvation taught by Christ and His apostles. We have not added to this design nor do we take away from it. Believers in Christ are immersed and have made a public statement that they believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He is their personal Savior. Immersed believers in Christ that wish to place membership in our local church family need only to extend and receive the right-hand of Christian fellowship before the congregation. Believers from other church systems, which have never in faith obeyed Christ's plan of salvation, are required to obey this command from Jesus to become members. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38) The heart of worship in the New Testament Church is the weekly observance of the Lord's Supper in memory of our Lord's death and resurrection. This is why we make communion the heart of our worship each Lord's Day (Acts 20:7). We are Christ's family gathering around His table remembering His sacrifice for our sins; so we in turn will commit ourselves to living lives that honor His Name, as we live by His Word. We urge you to visit with us and ask any questions you may have concerning His church. We also ask you to prudently and prayerfully consider becoming a part of this fellowship of Christians who seek to serve God, as His Word directs. |
